8vo (172 x 107 mm). Woodcut vignette on title page and at end of index, errata on verso of final leaf. Recased in contemporary vellum. Covers soiled and slightly wrinkled, with some repairs; dampstaining, ink notations to front paste-down, browning and spotting.

FIRST EDITION of this rare work by outspoken free-thinker Vanini, denouncing atheism perhaps to re-ingratiate himself with the church.
