Part A British Literature
Ⅰ Early and Medieval English Literature 早期及中世紀英國文學
1. “Beowulf”, the national epic of the English people.
《貝奧武夫》（Beowulf），完成于八世紀，約750年左右的英雄叙事長詩，長達3000多行。仿碰鏈是以古英語記載的傳說中最古老的一篇。是現存古英文文學中最偉大之作，也是歐洲最早的方言史詩。
2. Geoffrey Chaucer ,the founder of English poetry.
喬叟(1343-1400),英國詩歌之父.
The Canterbury Tales 《坎特伯雷故事集》, 以一夥來自社會各個階層的香客在宗教朝聖的路上講述故事爲線索，向我們清楚地展示了那個時代人們的生活。在所有的23個故事中，除了兩篇之外，其餘都是詩歌體裁的作品。
Ⅱ The Renaissance [ri′neis(ə)ns] 文藝複興時期文學
1. William Shakespeare 莎士比亞
（1564～1616）英國文藝複興時期偉大的劇作家、詩人，歐洲文藝複興時期人文主義文學的集大成者。
莎士比亞給世人留下了37部戲劇play，其中包括一些他與别人合寫的一般劇作。此外，他還寫有154首十四行詩sonnet和三、四首長詩poem。
