FIRST EDITION. German physicist Gaspar Schott, who entered the Society of Jesus in 1627, was a student of Athanasius Kircher and in correspondence with many of the great scientists of his day including Robert Boyle, Otto von Guericke, and Christiaan Huygens. The present work is a huge collection of descriptions of some of his colleagues\’ work along with many other curiosities including perpetual motion machines, a chronometer, hydraulics, etc. Norman 1911; Tomash Williams S60.
